Dominate the climbs
Achieving the Orbea Orca's lightness was achieved through numerous small improvements, focusing on every detail, and using the best materials available. Designing a bike like the Orca means working with the component and wheel design team from the very beginning to optimize both stiffness and weight.
The perfect balance between lightness and rigidity
It's possible to make very light bikes, but that's pointless if efficiency is lost due to a lack of stiffness. When we designed the Orbea Orca, we started with a stiffness goal to ensure even the strongest climbers could transmit their power efficiently. We therefore designed it to be the lightest, without compromising that figure.
Lightness with every pedal stroke
The feel of a lightweight bike is unbeatable, with immediate response and the sensation of acceleration with every pedal stroke. The lack of inertia translates into an agile and responsive ride when cornering and accelerating.
Optimized stiffness for each size
Optimizing the laminate for each size ensures that all Orcas perform equally. It requires a lot more work, but it's these small details that really make a difference in the saddle.
Powerspine
The lower section of the frame handles the majority of torsional and lateral loads.
ICR Plus
The internal wiring system is carefully routed along the best route under the stem and through the head tube, without friction or squeal, and is optimized for both traditional and electronic shifting systems.
